love this.

we just got this old buffet at an antique store. we love the way its been worn and loved and used and used. the drawer on the left is crackley and crumbley, but still so solid. character you cant purposefully create. its real. person after person opening it and reaching for silverware. napkins. matches. keys. the little burn on the upper ledge. the way the legs swirl and curl. the entire aura of this guy makes it seem like an old friend. i barely looked at it but wanted it, because it felt as though i already owned it. i've always known it. and though its silly, i love this buffet. welcome home buffet friend.

i have been feeling sort of awkward about this blog. unsure of what to post first. or next. or if i should post at all. especially now that i have 2 followers(yay erin and susannah!). i considered deleting it...but instead started adding some photos that recently made me happy. little things that are regular everyday yet so beautiful they needed to be photographed. so there. thats a start.

i need to make some of these.
